Spring Break 2021 and Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines

As second semester of the 2020/21 school year begins, parents and students may start thinking about Spring Break. Even if COVID makes Spring Break less than traditional, the time off will still be welcome. And that time off can frequently cause some issues for two household families. If your parenting time situation follows the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines, here is how you should be preparing:
Because 2021 is an odd numbered year, the noncustodial parent is entitled to have Spring Break with the children from two hours after the child is released from school on the child’s last day of school before Spring Break, and ending 7:00 p.m. on the last day before school begins again. Also, unless there is a court order or settlement agreement on file with the court saying otherwise, a parent is allowed to take their child out-of-state, regardless of the other parents wishes, so long as they provide that parent with notice of where and when they are going and how they can be reached and it does not interfere with the other parents own parenting time.
